Humanity International USA (H.I. USA) Mission Guidelines
-
Charity Purpose and Benefit to the Public
All activities and operations of H.I. USA must serve the public good. Charity trustees and members must ensure that every initiative and project is aimed at benefiting vulnerable communities in a meaningful way. The organization’s resources must be used exclusively for humanitarian purposes, with transparency in fund allocation and use. -
Notification of Donations and Money Withdrawals
Any donations or money withdrawals designated for humanitarian aid must be reported promptly by H.I. agents and representatives. This includes providing detailed records of transactions and their specific purposes to ensure accountability and prevent misuse of funds. -
Increasing Donor Engagement and Recruitment
H.I. USA strives to increase donor participation by 75% each month. To achieve this, all team members must actively recruit new donors through our $10 monthly membership program. This includes maintaining personal relationships with donors and encouraging new sign-ups through various outreach methods. -
Content Creation and Marketing
All H.I. agents are required to create high-quality videos and photos showcasing the impact of our work. Professional content will play a critical role in donor recruitment, with studies showing that videos can increase donor engagement by up to 80%. All content should reflect H.I. USA’s professionalism and commitment to the cause, helping to raise awareness and build trust. -
Regular Meetings and Collaboration
General meetings will be held regularly, with clear agendas to facilitate communication, collaboration, and goal-setting among all H.I. USA team members and representatives. Open discussions and teamwork will ensure alignment with the organization’s mission and operational efficiency. -
Adherence to Rules and Regulations
All staff members and representatives must comply with H.I. USA’s operational guidelines, ethics, and regulations while engaging in missionary and volunteer work. This includes following all legal, moral, and safety protocols when interacting with local communities. -
Clear Vision, Mission, and Purpose
H.I. USA’s mission, vision, goals, and measurable outcomes must be clearly defined and communicated to all stakeholders. Continuous feedback and input from stakeholders will inform and improve our international mission projects. All team members must align their actions with the organization’s vision and strive for excellence in execution. -
Project Outcomes and Impact Assessment
High expectations for project outcomes should be maintained at all times. Interviews and direct communication with beneficiaries, particularly children who may require essential aid such as food, water, or medical supplies, should be conducted regularly. Outcomes must be tracked and reported, ensuring that H.I. USA’s interventions are effectively addressing the needs of those served. -
Mental Health and Trauma Sensitivity
H.I. agents must approach interactions with children who have experienced trauma (e.g., PTSD, stress, mental health challenges) with sensitivity, respect, and professionalism. Trauma-informed practices should be followed, and care should be taken in how conversations and support are provided, ensuring that individuals feel safe and heard.
Safety Guidelines
-
Personal Safety Protocols
In any situation where a member feels unsafe or is at risk of harm, they must immediately contact and report the incident to an H.I. security officer. A clear chain of command will be in place for handling emergency situations and ensuring member safety. -
Avoid Risky Situations
All H.I. USA team members and agents must avoid situations that could become physically or spiritually dangerous, or those that may be easily misinterpreted by the local community. Common sense and caution must always prevail, especially when engaging with local leaders, community representatives, or individuals who may be vulnerable. -
Respect Local Norms and Practices
When on the ground, H.I. agents must act with cultural sensitivity, respecting local traditions, practices, and values. This includes engaging with community leaders and representatives in a respectful and professional manner, as well as ensuring that all interactions are appropriate and beneficial to the project goals. -
Clear Communication and Reporting
All safety-related issues, concerns, or incidents must be communicated promptly to the appropriate parties within H.I. USA. A detailed safety report must be filed if any incidents occur, and measures must be taken to prevent reoccurrence. Regular safety assessments should also be conducted to ensure the well-being of all members. -
Maintain Situational Awareness
All H.I. USA team members and agents must remain aware of their surroundings and constantly evaluate potential safety risks. Avoid traveling or working in areas that are deemed unsafe by local authorities or security teams. Use the buddy system when necessary, and always keep communication channels open with team members and security personnel. -
Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Depending on the nature of the fieldwork, appropriate protective measures (such as PPE for health and safety) must be worn at all times. This includes masks, gloves, and other equipment as needed to ensure the safety and health of volunteers and the communities they serve.
By adhering to these guidelines, H.I. USA ensures that its operations are ethical, professional, and safe, and that the impact of its work is both meaningful and sustainable. It is expected that all H.I. agents, team members, and volunteers will follow these rules diligently to further the organization’s mission and uphold its reputation within the global humanitarian community.
